On September 2, 2019, some representatives of the technical department and production department of Yingkou Northern Steel Drum Manufacturing Equipment under the leadership of Mr. Wang Zhijian, the deputy general manager of the company, visited the 18th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition（CIEME） held at Shenyang International Exhibition Center. The main purpose of this trip is not only to learn from the advanced enterprises, but also to bring new design concepts and machining manufacturing technology back to the company. Strengthening self-motivation and building a learning-oriented enterprise, the company’s development will only flourish in the process of continuous learning and progress.
As a large-scale professional exhibition that has grown up in the context of revitalizing the old industrial bases in the Northeast, the Expo has represented the benchmark of national-level exhibitions and also promoted the development of the equipment manufacturing industry. There will be many advanced manufacturing companies at home and abroad, product spare parts units, advanced processing technology and the latest design concepts for us to learn.
At the exhibition, representatives of the Northern Steel Drum learned the latest machining equipment, tools, processing technology, etc., and thought about how to improve the quality of our company’s products. At the exhibition site, a variety of drum equipment supporting products such as motors, reducers, electrical components, pneumatic parts and hydraulic components were also exhibited, which played a positive role in the design work of the technical department.In addition, the intelligent robots, flexible production lines, smart factory management systems and other products exhibited at the exhibition also inspired the technical department to improve the overall design of the drum production line.
Northern Steel Drum has got the strong industry-leading technical strength，based on the hundred years of experience. The company has strengthened cooperation with International Drum-making Technology Institutes and domestic universities. We invest a large amount of scientific research funds every year. The intelligent, high-speed and energy-saving line promotes the industrial upgrading. Right now we have acquired twenty-two patents.
The accumulation of centuries-old drum making technology has made us to entirely understand clients’ requirements, and provide reasonable drum-making process and layout design to guarantee superior drum quality. At the same time, we help clients to reduce the production operating cost and meet the target of energy saving. Especially, during products designing phase, it could be a customized design according to each client’s unique demand, the major designing parameters are selected and optimized according to the mathematical model to further ensure excellent performance of the line.
Northern Steel Drum has a strong independent manufacturing capacity. We have all the mechanical processing and testing equipment required， total 160 sets. Including a number of 4-axes CNC machining center, 7-axes CNC vertical milling and boring machining centers, more than 10 CNC lathes, and various large milling machines, planers, grinding machines, slotting machines, gear-hobbing machines and other machine tools. We have realized all components produced by technicality, important parts by molding. Each component is manufactured strictly in compliance with the professional machining process, including NC cutting, welding, automatic abrasive blasting and rust removal, heat treatment, NC machining, assembly, debugging, inspection, finally delivery. The production site implements 6S management and lean production management mode. All business processes adopt ERP management system to accurately follow up the production progress, and has an early warning system for overtime. Excellent machining equipment, precision testing instrument, advanced production technology and intelligent management software guarantee the excellent performance.
The company consists of experienced Designing, Project Management, Production Management, Quality Management, Production Technicians, After-sales Service and Technical Supporting Team，total 150 employee. Among them, 1 Drum-making Expert awarded by Steel Drum Association of China Packaging Federation, 5 Senior engineers, 22 R&D engineers, 2 Masters, and 37 Bachelors.
Every year, the Northern Steel Drum Manufacturing Equipment organizes a visit to the Expo and learns to introduce the most advanced manufacturing technologies and concepts. In the future, we will continue to adhere to the design concept of intelligent, high-speed, energy-saving and environmental protection, and contribute to the development of the steel drum industry.
